 Course outcomes

1) Understand the basic themes; concepts; chronology and the scope of Indian History

2) Understand the history of the countries other than India with comparative approach

B.A. FY General paper –I ( Old Syllabus )

Chh. Shivaji and his Times (1630 to 1680)

1. Understand the inspiration behind the establishment of swarajya.

2. Know about the administrative need and the importance of grand coronation of chh. Shivaji.

3. Understand the Agricultural aspects and revenue system at Medieval period.

4. To help the student to know Medieval world and understand the contemporary world in the light of its background History.

5. To highlight the rise and growth of as a Movement of Swaraj.

6. To aware about Maratha Art and Architectural Heritage

7. Understand the formation of welfare state during the Maratha rule.

   

F.Y.B.A.   ( To be implemented from the Academic Year  2019-20 )

(Semester- I)   Early India : From  prehistory to the Age of the Mauryas

1)  Understand the sources; importance of heritage sites and implicit idea of History.

2)Provide an understanding of the social; economic; religious; and institutional bases of Ancient India.

3) Study an ancient Indian agriculture ; Industry; trade.

4) Get basic knowledge of the Ancient Civilization and culture in the past.

5 )  Survey the sources  of History of Ancient India.

 

( Semester II) -  Early India : Post Mauryan Age to the Rashtrakutas .

  • Students will be able to indicate multiple cultures ( Greek; shaka; Hun;kushan; Parthians)  of Ancient India.
  • Students will be able to illustrate the development of empire.
  • Students will be able to explain our heritage through cultural aspects of Ancient India.
  • Study ancient Indian Art and Arichitecture.
  • The students to the developments in different parts of India though a brief study of regional kingdoms up to the century C.E.

 

B.A.S.Y.    General  Paper -2  Modern India (1857-1950)

1) The course attempts to acquaint  student with fundamental aspects of modern Indian History .

2) Understand some of the early resistance to British rule.

3) Identify the importance and the legacy of freedom movement.

4) Evaluate the renaissance and social reform movement in India.

5) It aims at enabling the student to understand the processes of rise of modern India.

6) Understand the difference between  moderates; extremists; and revolutionaries.

7) Grasp the details of freedom movement under the Mahatma Gandhi s  leadership.

8) understand the evolutionary processes of constitutional developments.

9) Distinguish the detail account   of British raj as well as its overall impacts on the Indian society.

3) To enable students to understand the economic transition in world during the 20th century.

5) Understand how Russia and America emerged as superpowers on the verge of cold war.

6) Understand  the  importance of world peace right after the world War I.

7) Become  aware of the principles; forces; processes and problems of the recent times.
