About Subject:

History is one of the important subjects in arts faculty. It is defined   as a continual communication between the past and present. History knowledge gives solidity to the understanding of the present and may suggest guiding lines for the future.

About Kharda History:

           Kharda is a famous historical place. It is located on the borders of Ahmednagar; Beed , and Osmanabad  districts. Kharda town has formerly known  by the shivapattan because of the twelve hemadpanthi   temples . The fort of sultangadh was the witness of the Maratha vs Nizam  battle, which took place in 1795. The great warrior Appasaheb Nimbalkar tomb( chhatri)  is built at Kharda.  Kharda being a historical   place,  it is a  attracting for those who shows interests in history , museology , and historical monuments . For the students of our collage we arrange the study tour to Kharda peripherals .  At the time of visit we undertake the initiative of cleaning of the visiting historical place by taking lead role in cleanliness programm. We do make aware to our students about the historical importance of those historical monuments and inculcating in them the quality of conserving  and preserving them. The ‘vijaystambh ’  has been built at ‘Rantakdi’ the place where Nizam-vs- Maratha’  battle took place. At the same time we worked to protect “veergal”  in kharda and its vicinity.

 Scope and importance of the subject:

History is one of the important subjects in arts faculty. It is defined as ‘A continual communication between the past and present’. It means that history is not related just with the past, but it has a connection with the present and future also.  It decides the undercurrents of the present society. If we do not know the past, it becomes quite difficult to take decisions in the present that will shape our future. Such is the importance of history.

Whether history is an art or a science was also a point of constant debate, but now it a social science. The human element of history makes it an interesting subject for all. Francis Bacon, a famous English thinker says that ‘History makes man wise’. From the students point of view, history is one of the major subjects for the aspirers of Competitive Exams.. Understanding geography can help people, governments and businesses to make better decisions.

4. Upgradation of subject knowledge faculty participates in faculty development program  as well as orientation program.
5. Faculty has secretary of ‘Ithihas Sankalan Samiti’ which reputed institute in history subject. Due to this achievement department has conducting various co-culler activities.

5. The limitation that found during the field work, study and survey of the activity is that inactiveness of local community, local leaders about the historical monuments, places and heritage. Lack of adequate facilities to develop and study on historical monuments, places and heritage located in this location.
