  1. Scope and importance of the subject:

Scope

  • Hindi is the second most spoken language in the world.
  • The Indian Constitution declared Hindi is the official language.
  • In different departments of the Central Government, State Govt. (In Hindi Speaking States) It is mandatory to work in Hindi language.
  • There are various posts like Hindi Officer, Hindi translator, Hindi Assistant, Manager (official language) in different departments and units of central/state government.
  • In field of Hindi media, there is a need for editors, reporters, correspondents, subject editors, proof readers, radio jockey, anchors, etc.

 Importance

. Hindi is the National language which plays an important role in connecting India together . In India there are several languages and dialects used for speaking , in such situation Hindi pays important role as a medium of communication. In Indian Constitution article 343 (1) is specially provisioned for Hindi with claims the status of  the language of state. Most of the political and Government Offices use Hindi for the smooth conduction of  day to day affairs . Maharashtra  though a non Hindi speaking state still large number of people speak Hindi and understand .

 

  1. Introduction of department:

The Department of Hindi established in 2012, has completed 08 year offering courses leading to B.A. in Hindi Genral. Subject under the Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. The department in the college teaches under-graduate courses to the students of Genral Hindi. The Hindi department has a glorious tradition of good results at university level. The department has a reputation that many students get success in competitive Examinations and bright successful personalities in their future career .The Department has “Hindi sahitya Mandal” of students, which arrange various activities such as a Hindi Day,Hindi Pakhwada ,Hindi me vartalap, wall paper computation, Quiz Computation, lectures of resource persons, to develop inherent qualities in them. Our faculty has delivered number of lectures and present research paper in seminars, conferences and Journals.
