Shri Chhatrapati Va Aarogya Prasarak Mandal, Kharda was founded in 1949 by the founding secretary of the institution. Dr. Mahesh Golekar. The organization made its mark in the field of education and health in rural areas in the short term. Kharda is located on the outskirts of the three districts of Ahmednagar, Beed, and Osmanabad. Given the increasing reliance of parents and students on the institution and the need for a senior college in this area, especially the economically weaker students, Shri Sant Gajanan College of Arts, affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University was established in 2002. This college provided the opportunity for farmers, boys and girls of the area to get a degree in education in the area. Given the financial situation of the needy students in the college, different state government and university level scholarship schemes are also implemented. Given the increasing response of the students in the college, The second batch was approved from the Year 2012-13. Also Hon. Order of the Director of Education, Higher Education, Maharashtra State, Pune. NGC / 4 / Art Branch Anu / Puvi / Mv-3/1, d. as of September 14, 2016, the institution has been successful in obtaining a 100% grant to the college from 2010-11.

      From the academic year 2016-17, the curriculum of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University was started at Shri Sant Gajanan College. Through this center, students from rural areas were provided with the facility to get a master's degree in Marathi.

      Every year, blood donation camps are organized by the college to raise awareness of social commitment. To celebrate the emergence of moral character, the institution annually announces a weekly litany of prabodhanpar kirtan sermons in celebration of Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj Prakatdin. Through the National Service Scheme Department of the college, the government is working to provide help to the destitute widows. An annual affection meeting is organized every year to inspire the students' artistic talents. Through the National Service Scheme of the College, various social activities, tree planting, illness diagnosis camp, blood donation camp, blood clot, and hemoglobin testing camps, campus cleanup, etc. Activities are implemented every year. Also, various programs like Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Kamva and Shika, Nirbhaya Kanya, Disaster Management Training Camp are successfully implemented by the Student Development Board of the college. Similarly, state-level seminars, conferences to be organized by the University are organized. Through the college's geography department, a high-capacity telescope has been made available for observing the galaxy not only in the Kharda campus but also in the taluka students and leisure researchers.

      Thus, the founding secretary of the organization, from the concept of Dr. Mahesh Golekar, Shri Sant Gajanan College Kharda has been working continuously for enlightenment on the campus that has emerged as a college.

     श्री छत्रपती शिक्षण व आरोग्य प्रसारक मंडळ, खर्डा या संस्थेची स्थापना इ.स.१९८४ साली संस्थेचे संस्थापक सचिव मा. डॉ. महेश गोलेकर यांनी केली. संस्थेने ग्रामीण भागात शिक्षण व आरोग्य क्षेत्रात आपला ठसा अल्पावधीतच उमटवला. खर्डा हे गांव अहमदनगर, बीड व उस्मानाबाद या तीन जिल्ह्याच्या सरहद्दीवर असून संस्थेवरील पालक व विद्यार्थ्यांचा वाढता विश्वास व या भागातील वरिष्ठ महाविद्यालयाची गरज विशेषतः आर्थिकदृष्ट्या कमकुवत विद्यार्थीनींची अडचण लक्षात घेऊन सावित्रीबाई फुले पुणे विद्यापीठाशी संलग्नीत कला विद्याशाखेच्या श्री संत गजानन महाविद्यालयाची स्थापना इ.स.२००२ साली केली. सदर महाविद्यालयाने परिसरातील शेतकरी, गोरगरीबांच्या मुलांना व मुलींना परिसरातच पदवी शिक्षण घेण्याची संधी उपलब्ध करून दिली. महाविद्यालयामध्ये परिसरातील गरजू विद्यार्थ्यांची आर्थिक परिस्थिती लक्षात घेता वेगवेगळ्या राज्यशासन व विद्यापीठ स्तरावरील शिष्यवृत्तीच्या योजनाही राबवल्या जातात. महाविद्यालयातील विद्यार्थ्यांचा वाढता प्रतिसाद पाहून महाविद्यालयास शै. वर्ष २०१२-१३ पासून द्वितीय तुकडीस मान्यता देण्यात आली. तसेच मा. शिक्षण संचालक, उच्च शिक्षण, महाराष्ट्र राज्य, पुणे यांचे आदेश क्र. एनजीसी/२०१६/कला शाखा अनु/पुवि/मवि-२ /१०६८२, दि. १४ सप्टेंबर २०१६ नुसार २०१०-११ पासून महाविद्यालयास १००% अनुदान प्राप्त करण्यास संस्थेस यश मिळाले आहे.

      तसेच सन २०१६-१७ या शैक्षणिक वर्षापासून श्री संत गजानन महाविद्यालयामध्ये यशवंतराव चव्हाण महाराष्ट्र मुक्त विद्यापीठाचे अभ्यासकेंद्र सुरु करण्यात आले. या केंद्राद्वारे ग्रामीण भागातील विद्यार्थ्यांना मराठी विषयात पदव्यूत्तर पदवी मिळवण्याची सोय उपलब्ध करून देण्यात आली.

      महाविद्यालयामार्फत दरवर्षी सामाजिक बांधिलकीची जाणीव म्हणून रक्तदान शिबिराचे आयोजन करण्यात येते. नैतिक चारित्र्याचा अभ्युदय व्हावा यासाठी संस्था दरवर्षी श्री संत गजानन महाराज प्रकटदिन उत्सवानिमित्त प्रबोधनपर किर्तन-प्रवचनाचा साप्ताह साजरा करण्यात येतो. महाविद्यालयाच्या राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना विभागामार्फत निराधार विधवा स्त्रियांना शासकीय मदत मिळवून देण्याचे कार्य केले जाते. विद्यार्थ्यांच्या कलागुणांना वाव मिळण्यासाठी दर वर्षी वार्षिक स्नेह संमेलनाचे आयोजन करण्यात येते. महाविद्यालयाच्या राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजनेमार्फत वेगवेगळे सामाजिक उपक्रम, वृक्षरोपण, सर्वरोग निदान शिबीर, रक्तदान शिबीर, रक्तगट व हिमोग्लोबिन तपासणे शिबीर, परिसर स्वच्छता इ. उपक्रम दरवर्षी राबवले जातात. तसेच महाविद्यालयाच्या विद्यार्थी विकास मंडळातर्फे कर्मवीर भाऊराव पाटील कमवा व शिका, निर्भय कन्या, आपत्ती व्यवस्थापन प्रशिक्षण शिबीर यांसारखे वेगवेगळे उपक्रम यशस्वीरित्या राबवले जातात. त्याचप्रमाणे विद्यापीठामार्फत घेतल्या जाणारया राज्यस्तरीय चर्चासत्र, परिषदांचे आयोजन केले जाते. महाविद्यालयाच्या भूगोल विभागामार्फत खर्डा परिसरामध्ये नव्हे तर तालुक्यातील विद्यार्थ्यांना व अवकाश संशोधकांना आकाशगंगेचे निरीक्षनार्थ उच्च क्षमतेची दुरदर्शिका (Telescope) उपलब्ध करून दिलेली आहे.

      अशाप्रकारे संस्थेचे संस्थापक सचिव मा. डॉ. महेश गोलेकर यांच्या संकल्पनेमधून श्री संत गजानन महाविद्यालय खर्डा या महाविद्यालयाच्या रूपाने उदयास आलेला वटवृक्ष खर्डा परिसरामध्ये अविरतपणे ज्ञानदान करण्याचे कार्य करत आहे.
